Jennifer Carrier grew up in the suburbs of Rhode Island. Following the footsteps of her mother, she pursued her dream of becoming a teacher. Early on she found a love of working with young children, especially those with disabilities. She went on to earn her bachelors degree in special education and early childhood education. She then earned her master’s degree in severe intellectual disabilities. Jen has been teaching preschool children with severe disabilities for nine years in the public school system.

Jen had a dream of of writing a children’s book for most of her life. After a thought sparked her imagination one day, she went home and wrote Use Your Words in one night. Jen plans on making her book a series, to help promote and teach empathy and other important social emotional skills.

Jen holds the firm belief that all children can and should have a voice.
